Our work spans the development of public policy positions for local, state and national organisations, through to the analysis of State/Territory and Australian Government policy and their implications for organisations in terms of strategic planning and/or service delivery. At times this work is embedded into evaluation and consultation projects. Stand-alone policy project examples include:
Midwifery Cultural Safety Training Standards (2018 – 2019)
Client: Congress of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses and Midwives (CATSINaM) and Australian College of Midwives (ACM)
Work with CATSINaM and ACM to define, establish, promote and implement a set of national standards by which cultural safety training available for midwives can be assessed.
Policy analysis and preparation for a Federal Election lobbying campaign (2015 – 2016)
Client: Congress of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses and Midwives (CATSINaM)
Work with the CATSINaM CEO and a health economist to analyse the policy positions of major parties, prepare written submissions and participate in meetings with politicians in the lead-up to the 2016 Federal Election.

National policy position development (2013 – 2014)
Client: Congress of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses and Midwives (CATSINaM)
Work with the CATSINaM CEO to refine the policy development framework and three core policies relevant to CATSINaM priorities: cultural safety , recruitment and retention of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nurses and midwives , and clinical placements.
Kaurna Protocols (2012)
Client: Adelaide City Council
Plan and facilitate a process to support Kaurna representatives and the Adelaide City Council to agree on protocols for welcome to and acknowledgement of Kaurna Country, and document the agreements for adoption across Adelaide City Council, in partnership with Jason Bromley of Incompro.
NACCHO Cultural Safety Training Standards (2010 – 2011)
Client: National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO)
Support NACCHO in defining, establishing and promoting a set of national standards by which cultural safety training can be assessed, and develop the business case and funding submission for Stage 2 to enable implementation.
Learner Wellbeing Project (2006)
Client: Department of Education and Children’s Services.
Undertake and report on an external analysis of the feedback received on the ‘Wellbeing is central to learning’ Working Paper, and advise the Department in developing the next steps for the project and policy framework.
